Jo worked as Central America programme manager for Coda International and was based in Nicaragua between 1993 and 1998. She returned to study an MPhil at the Institute of Development Studies. She now works as a Research Fellow at the University of the West of England in Bristol, focusing on citizen participation, participatory democracy and governance around the world.
